Do Quiz Bowl, Math League and similar competitions look good on a college application

I'm trying to introduce these types of contests in my school, but I'm not sure if they're worth it. I'm assuming that I'll have to spend much time to prepare for the contests. Will it be time well spent?

It shouldn't matter if it looks good on an application. If that's what your passion is, then go for it, but don't do it solely for college purposes.

most of these contests are fairly bootleg, you want to stick with the legit ones like Intel and USA_O. These don't require teams or anything, just have a teacher register you.

Thanks. But, do they help with SAT preparation?

not at all... If you even have the slightest chance of doing mediocre on one of them you should be getting 750+ on the math sections on the SAT...
