K, so i just took the Sat subject tests today(MathII and Chem). Now, idk if i did that well, because last time both my scores were <700, but this time felt much better but honestly i think i got a 750-790 on math II and a 680-750 on chem, but this is a just a very rough estimate; i really dont know how the scaled scores will be.

Now it comes down to December...my last chance. So I was planning to ace these tests today and take the SAT one last time in December, which is my better test by far in comparison to the ACT. But that obviously didnt happen, so my options are:

1) Take the Sat subject tests one more time just to make sure i get a good score and take the ACT(I only made a 32 but it is tougher for me than the SAT is)

2) Just be satisfied with my subject tests scores and take the SAT one last time( i have a 2210 and i am an asian, so it would be nice to raise it up).

So..which option is it, 1 or 2?

Nice title.
I think it depends too much on your November scores at this point. Sure, it would be ideal to get closer to 2300, but what if your subject scores are actually much worse than you would expect? You would want to improve those and at least have decent scores all around. I would say don't screw with ACT anymore.

Some universities also allow January testscores. Harvard, Yale (although they prefer December scores), Princeton (prefer December scores for internationals), Columbia and Penn (only for re-takers; disadvantage for first time) at least do. You could take a look at that!

Don't know how many times you have taken the tests but most of the Ivy's do not allow score choice. They want to see how many times you have taken the tests. I believe that more than 2 or 3 times is considered a negative. Keep that in mind. Good luck.

Harvard allows score choice.

As do Brown, Dartmouth, and Princeton. So it's not true that "most of the Ivy's do not allow score choice."

If I were you, InvisibleMan, I would sign up for the subject tests and the reasoning tests, as long as such a thing is possible. If your subject tests scores are really awful, retake the II's. If they're not the greatest but okay or if they're honestly good, consider retaking the I. 2210 is a pretty good score. Of course, this does depend on which colleges you're considering, but even though I was utterly desperate for a 2300+ and determined to not stop until I reached it, I'm not sure I would have retaken with a 2210.

i would suggest taking the SAT again instead of the SATII because to be honest, the SATs are much more important..if you get above a 2300 this time around it will be much more beneficial then if you have a 2100 but really good SATII scores

k, just to clarify how many times ive taken each so far:

SAT: 2 times
ACT: 1 times
SAT Subject Tests: 2 times

*This is much less than pretty much all my competing classmates

So any more advice from anyone else? I'm still sort of unsure, I'm thinking to contact college board about the possibility of registering for SAT and being Standby on Sat subject tests...but idk HELP

Hell i dont even know my best friend's GPA, much less how many times he's taken the Subject tests.

I am actually having the same problem,or even worse.I got 2180 on my SATI (with a shabby CR of 610)and am estimating not too great SATII scores for Math2,Lit and US His(first time taken,I know I'm a bit late on test scheduling).An Asian international student,I have been suggested differently...and I'm still debating which test to retake in December.

However,if your GPA and transcript look nice,I would like to suggest you retake the SATI.I don't know whether you are an international or not,but people also tried to tell me a high TOEFL score can make up lower SATI grades.

Also,schools(Ivy leagues included) are trying to say you can submit your January scores,they just cannot guarantee your scores will be taken into consideration before they already make the decision.For me,I will probably end up retaking SATI in December and retaking II in January.Then screw it,submit anyway...

Or...If you are powered up enough,consider study for both tests from now to December and register for SATI.If the SATIIs results are above 700,definitely go take SATI.If not,consider standby for SATIIs.

I hope I'm making sense at all....
