| Which one do you honestly love the most? Which one do you feel you have the most to say about? Are you good at tennis? How did your quiz bowl team do? How did your debate team do? What did you contribute to each of these persuits? What was the community award for? How long ago did you get it? What did you do when you volunteered in the hospital? When did you do that? Did you do it during tennis season? Are you still doing all of these activities? Is there one which you would continue to persue beyond high school? |

| How can I prove my eca's without certified proof? I don't have an arsenal of them, but am zealous about the few. |

| Make sure your counseler knows about them and mentions them in his/her recommendation, and mabye ur teachers to. That will be the most verifiable proof they'll need. If you something big like a national president they just use something called "google.com" |

| Well, I am an amateur animator and have worked under a teacher to develop a multimedia tutorial for kids. The teacher will recommend me but I cannot send a sample because that is copyrighted material belonging to him. Is that okay?
I also write to newspaper pointing out the different problems in my community. I can't get a recommendation from paper but have all the cuttings as proof. Will that count?
I have no volunteer or cultural works. But I'm worried because everyone most
probably has. |

| Okay. I'm incredibly involved with Russian Club at my school--been an officer for four years, president for two, it's a huge commitment and we do a lot. My essay is about saving the Russian program at my school from budget cuts. My Russian teacher & club advisor is writing one of my recs and I'm sure she'll talk about my work in the club.
My question is, should I use the 150-word common app EC essay to write MORE about Russian? Is that overkill, OR would it look really weird if I wrote about something else? I've got plenty of options, and I'd kind of like to show off a different aspect of myself, but on the other hand Russian Club is a pretty unique thing that I definitely want to highlight.
Thanks! |

| How much help is being a national officer actually? I'm a national officer of a club right now and I just began to wonder it. |

| I'm really big on genealogy. I researched the Italian side of my family to 1800 and one string of my Icelandic side up to 850 (No, that isn't a typo). What would be the best way to include that? |

| hi umm i have a question...
im a swimmer and swim like 15 to 20 hrs every week
im not in any clubs
i dont have much volunteering time yet but i will by the time i apply for college... at least 100
im a junior this year btw
like i said, im a swimmer im good enough to make it to states (really isnt that good) but im not that good. lets say that no college in their right mind would offer me a scholarship for swimming
but would it be okay if i wrote about swimming as not just a sport but something i became accustomed to and like the things that ive leared though it?
like swimming is painful, but i learned to work as a team and learned to be more enduring and stuff like that... i gained a lot of other things than just to swim faster
so would that be a way to impress colleges? to write about how like one ec had/has a big impact on my overall life? |

| "Agreed. I suppose that the adcoms sort of saw through my app that I didn't really care too much about this EC that I wrote about- thought it'd be more impressive than my true love (riding horses). Was denied from a lot of places..." - Quote from TickleMePink
Okay...so how do I show that I really passionately care about the EC i'm writing about without making it sound like I just wrote it because that's what the adcoms want to hear...??? |

| Is it OK if you don't have certification or proof for some of your ECs? I mean, that way couldnt everyone just come up with something? But some ECs like tutoring really dont come with a certificate. Answers? |
