Sending SAT scores and SAT subject test scores

Hi, I'm a junior in high school and also the first of my family's generation going through all this -_-'

So I have some questions about sending scores

Can I choose which SAT scores I send? I've taken the SAT twice - the first time I got a 2080 on and the second time I got a 2360. Obviously I want to send the 2360 and would rather not have colleges see the 2080.

Also, can I choose which SAT subject test scores to send? I've already taken Math I and Math 2 subject tests and would like to just cancel my Math I score altogether.

Finally, to send these scores I would just send the score reports from collegeboard(dot)com right? When would I send these scores? I'm starting the transcript process soon, and I'm not sure when to send them.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Score Choice is available to all students, and you can use it to hide any SAT score from any date (you can't hide specific sections) or any Subject Test score (regardless of whether it was on the same day as another test that you want to actually send). Some schools, however, do not want their applicants to use Score Choice, so check each school's Web site.

Right.

Any time is fine, as long as they are in by the school's deadline.

Whether or not you have to send all SAT scores or not depends on if the school accepts Score choice or not. Go to the college websites for their policies or the list on the CB website.

With CBs score choice, you can choose to send some SAT IIs and leave others, but again, it depends on each school's policy about whether or not they accept score choice.

Yes, you send scores via the CB website. I would recommend you wait until next fall, when your college list is solid and colleges are completely done with the 2009/10 cycle. I'd advise you do the same with your transcripts. Both your test scores and transcripts can arrive before your actual application, but now is too early.

Can score choice cancel scores already sent? Or do I have to send new scores for the same test to override those scores? I made the mistake of sending some SAT subject test score in sophomore year and one of the scores I really don't like, but I sent the scores before I knew them because they were free.

Score Choice actually hides what scores are sent. If a school has already received your scores, there isn't anything you can do to conceal them.

If only a world history subject test is taken and I do not want to send the score to my selected school can I choose not to send it in. Thank You.

You don't have to send your Subject Tests in to any school if you don't want to.

Don't tell your list of colleges that you ever sat for it, and don't ask the College Board to send the score to anyone. It won't go anywhere.

This is only correct in the sense that the CB will not send a test score if you request it.

However, if you are asking the question, is it OK with a school if I hold back a test score? The answer is: it depends on the school.

You need to go to the school website and look at their Score Choice policy because they vary and some schools require that you send all scores.

I hope I am not hijacking this thread with my question on sending scores... We sent scores for free to 4 schools after the SAT II Subject tests on June 2nd. For some reason, I have been under the assumption that the SAT I scores were all sent as well (we did not use score choice). But now as I look at my son's scores on College Board, it appears that only the SAT II's were sent. I swear someone told me all his scores would be sent, including SAT I. I've e-mailed them, but its a weekend so I prob. won't hear back til next week, so I thought I'd try here. Thanks!

If you didn't use Score Choice, the CB should have sent all of his scores up to and including the ones he sat that day.

p.s. It's usually advisable to start your own new thread as members often don't look at post dates and just respond automatically to the question(s) asked in the OP.
