| I would definitely have to agree with the above poster on all accounts
I am a Soph at C of C and I had the same reservations about the "preppy" stuff written in the guide books. I even had that same vibe when I visited campus.
HOWEVER, after living and breathing CofC for the past year, I can definitely say that my thoughts have changed significantly. It really depends on who you hang with. The kids in the frats and sororities are preppy, but that's to be expected. But, the student pop. as a whole is not like that. Many many artsy, non-conformists and theatre kids are a noticeable. The out of staters like myself are not considered preppy. I guess the sentiment that I'll leave ya'll with is that it comes down to who you choose to be friends. Although its seems to have become trite, in my experience at CofC, there are groups for everybody. It all comes down to taking the initiative and finding those people. If anybody has any more ???s about CofC, PM me and I'll try to get back to ya in a reasonable time. |
