Dell Latitude

Does anyone have an opinion on the Dell Latitude (E6420 model I think)? The school I plan to go to has Dell support on campus and a deal through Dell so my mom wants to get it but I can't seem to find any user reviews on the model the school offers...

Dell business laptops are priced in a way that you are paying for 3 years of support at the cost of good specs. For example the base model Latitude laptops for the E6430 (the E6420 isn't sold anymore) has only 2GB of memory which is not enough.

Are there any other Dell deals that you can get through your campus?

You might also check out deals on factory-refurbished Dells through Dell Outlet. There is a home and a business version of the website - the products are similar. You can find some really good discount codes online periodically for these sites, and can sign up for their email alerts. These are almost new laptops that typically were returned for a minor problem that was then corrected. I've bought 2, and they were excellent deals and very reliable. Stick with the Lattitudes, because they are much more durable than the cheaper Dells.
