| idk, even on the dell website if you dig into the reviews (past the first page, where most of them are glowing, i notice most of the reviewers also claim to have owned their xps notebooks for less than a month/week too) there will be complaints from design to hard drive failure.
hopefully dell has taken all of this into consideration and have made improvements over the months. |

| My M1530 arrived yesterday and so far I'm pretty impressed.
I thought it would be a bit too big for me, but it's the perfect size so far.
The 9cell battery does add a bit of heft, I might consider buying a 6cell.
The extras were really nice too. |

I've heard that the horrible build quality applies mainly to Dell's Inspiron line.
| I just got my Inspiron 1525 about two weeks ago and I haven't had any problems with it. Nothing's broke, nothing's fallen apart yet.
I personally like it a lot better than other laptops I've used. |

| Wow, two weeks? Nothing I've ever used has ever lasted that long without completely destroying itself! |

| My new Dell XPS M1530 just came today. I was hesitant at first, asking myself if I made the right decision in going with this laptop. Now, after seeing it, I think it's awesome! |

| Two weeks ago I tried to get the T8300 CPU with the nvidia8400GS GC. dell system blocked it and said i needed to upgrade the GC to the nvidia8600GT. However, this week i tried again and it said the nvidia8400GS GC would be fine.
Will the T8300 CPU work with the nvidia8400GS GC or not? |

| For anyone that wants to get the best deal on a top of the line laptop, I would recommend buying the m1530 straight from Dell's website. I looked at all of the major online retailers (HP, Sony, Toshiba, Gateway, Best Buy, Circuit City, Apple). The one I got has a T9300 2.5GHz dual core processor, 4GB memory, 320 GB HDD (5400 RPM), 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M video card, WUXGA 1080p monitor, internal wireless n card, bluetooth, and 3 years of accident insurance. After my UMich discount, and including shipping and tax, I paid $1634.49. |

| First, I have used a 1330 sized laptop for about 10 years now and I prefer that size. It's a matter of where you want to use the computer, how much desk space you want around it on a lap desk, and where your eyes focus best.
Second, in choosing the computer, look at the discount your school gives you and the discount that Dell has. When buying my granddaughter's computer the "best" cost less than $100 more than the good.
And make sure you do pay attention to whatever your school recommends or what most people have at your school. |

| Maybe I just missed it on the product page, but does the 1530 have a LED screen like it's 1330 little sister? I know when it first came out it didn't and Dell was working on it. That was about a year ago though.
Thanks! |

| At my internship I use an M1330 and its great. Lightweight, even with the extended battery, good screen quality, keyboard is better than most laptop keyboards, sleek exterior, screen size is definitely not small. |

| Could someone help me out? I bought an M1530 a few minutes ago, under the assumption that the shipping date would be, as said, on the 19th of August. However, after checking the receipt, it says:
Order Number Est. Ship Date
XXXXXXXXXXXX 07/08/2008
Product Description
Thank you Third Party
XXXXXXXXX 08/19/2008
Why does it show 07/08/08 under the estimated shipping date option? Is that just showing when the shipping date (Aug. 19th) was made?
