Ok, I just got my mbp today and decided to install more memory and a new hard drive. After I installed the memory and the new hard drive, I turned on the mbp and a file folder with a question mark inside of it is flashing. None of the keyboard buttons work so I guessed something went wrong with the installation? Someone please help me! (fyi: I manually turned off the mbp when it was trying to enter my personal information to apple but it didn't work so I just turned it off)
well, your hard drive that you installed inside the macbook pro probably doesn't have an OS loaded on it...also installing a HDD inside a macbook pro is a straight up ***** You sure you didn't kill one of the little wires or something when you opened up the thing?
Plus, you just got a brand new macbook pro and decided to immediately open it up and replace the hard drive? Brave (the mbp HD isn't supposed to be user serviceable, is it?) I'm sure it's probably ok though, unless you somehow really destroyed something inside.
Yeah, the HD isn't supposed to be user serviceable, only the RAM is so you must have had to do some diggin' around in there, make sure you didn't pull out any wires
