| Does Size Matter?
Hey,
I'm almost sure that I'm getting a Macbook for college. However, I still don't know if it's worth paying 600$ more to get a 15.4-inch widescreen (instead of 13.3")? Is working on a larger screen more comfortable, less tiring?
Any thoughts?

| Other than the screen size the biggest difference between the MacBooks and the MacBook Pros is that the Pros have a separate graphics card while the MacBooks use an integrated graphics chipset on the logic/motherboard. If you plan on also using your laptop for gaming then there is another reason to go with the Pro over the MacBook. The bigger screen on the Pro is nice, but the greater portability of the smaller MacBook is also a good thing. I might suggest, as I have wth others, get the MacBook and with part of the savings relative to the Pro, buy an external display and hook it up to the MacBook when you are at your desk. | |

| screen size doesn't matter so much as screen resolution. of course, if it's too small, it won't work, but i think 13" is fine. just hook it up to an LCD if you think it's too small. | |

| Well, of course there's not a "problem" carrying it around--it's a laptop, after all. The point is, when you get to 15+" screens, the laptop gets rather cumbersome. | |

| Well, I would consider cumbersomeness to be a "problem", if it existed for me. I'm just saying that I don't understand why people feel that a ~8 pound laptop is too heavy. I've carried a bag with books weighing 30+ pounds for the last four years. 8 pounds really isn't that much.... | |
