| My BlackBerry crashed, should I take a new BlackBerry Storm or iPhone 3GS 32?
(There's no smartphone forum, so I think this is the right subforum to post this)
Hi there! I used to love my BlackBerry Curve. However, with less than 1.5 years of use, the scroll button started to behave strangely. It became hard to roll the cursor to the right, and later the upper letters on the keyboard became unpredictable. Now, it completely stopped to work, it is crazy and seems to give an ENTER command at random!
I read this problem is somewhat common, and I'm disappointed, despite by otherwhise perfect evaluation of the device.
Now, I'm considering whether to replace it with a BlackBerry Storm or an IPhond 3GS 32. What do you suggest? I desperately needs e-mail and MSN connection everywhere, and GPS is a must-have also. Photo and video capabilities are not that important to me, I don't lake take pics so much and when I do it, I use a quite nice camera of 12 MPxl, which is far beyong smartphones performance.

You should have replaced your trackball.
But the Storm is a terrible phone...even the new Storm 2 is nothing to write home about. Go with the Tour if you're on VZW.

Get the iphone 3G S!!! i have one and i LOVE it. unless you really want a blackberry i would choose something other than the storm. But if you want something with a touch screen, the get the iphone it's really useful and sooo much fun to use.

iPhone. I have BB for work, there is no comparison. You want to play with iPhone, but you only want to use BB. Come to the dark side.

I said this before on some other thread, but:
Jailbroken iPhone FTW... People who are too scared to jailbreak are n00bz LOL :P.
No but seriously, I don't understand why people are still deciding which phone is better. The iPhone is definitely SUPERIOR to all other phones out there. There is very little that another phone can do that a jailbroken iPhone can't... If you don't like AT&T, just unlock an iPhone. No biggie.
With my iPhone I can...
Break up with my boyfriend via INSTANT E-MAIL while I'm on the go .
Browse the internet (coughwatchporncough)
AIM/Yahoo/MSN/ICQ/Myspace chat/facebook chat/chat WHATEVER the hell I want.
Play Stepmania. DDR with my fingers? BRING IT.
Winterboard (theme) it Hello Kitty style. YEAAAAAH.
Watch cute munchkin cats on Youtube. What the FLIP.
Post blogs about useless shiz to my Wordpress.
Mobile bank.
Read FMLs on the FML app.
Have bragging rights.
Check the weather so I know when I can dress inappropriately for class (slut skirt, hell yeah) .
Know what time it is in Vietnam and New York. YAY RANDOM THINGS.
Read NY Times and USA Today articles.
Beat a Blackberry in a "who has the bigger SCREEN" contest.
Listen to T-Pain on the RADIO.
Use the Craigslist application so I can find a friggin' job (someone hire me plox).
Use my iPhone as an OCARINA (via Smule.com's application).
Play Gameboy Advanced Games.
And lots of other really useless stuff . Good timeeeeees.
I feel like I have the WORLD in my hands.

check out any other smartphone vs iphone debates, and decide whether you want to be associated with the retarded/clueless that buy ifads. eg, above. Apple appeals to the senseless, trend following crowd. Just because every kid and grandma has one doesnt mean its great. In fact, it should be saying how stupid/useless the software/apps are if kids and grandmas use it. There are better phones/PMPs.

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS 32GB and I love it (the only jailbreak app I use though is the SIM-unlock program ultrasn0w).
As for others, the BB Storm 1 is bad but the BB Storm 2 hardware looks promising. Too bad the BB OS itself is lame. As for Android, it's the opposite. Great software, lame hardware (for now anyway)

I need a new phone sooner rather than later and am just dying on ATT. I feel as though they're deliberately not grabbing up anything exciting in the smartphone market to not cannibalize the iPhone.
Why don't cell phone makers design something not extremely compromised?
I'd love an iPhone 3GS 8gb with a full, comfortable keyboard. But really what I'd like to see is a brilliant, big AMOLED screen with decent hardware, a physical keyboard that's comfortable, 3G, WiFi, and Android that's not a massive brick ala HTCs Fuze or Tilt (both WinMo on ATT). Why is this so difficult?
