How to make a 4.0 GPA in college?

I'm really curious about how people do this without screwing their social lifes. I am studying in a very challeging college currently so my grades are not even close to my expectations. I take 7 courses in this semester, 5 of them will probably A at the end but i failed in calculus and physics exams. My grade for first midterm in Calculus is 50 and in Physics its 70. (Even if they seem low still above average) Furthermore, final exam in calculus is replacing the lowest midterm grade so there is still hope. Do you have any advice? Should i just give up on 4.0 GPA? Am i not smart enough to do that or is it just that i don't know how to study?

4.0 GPA requires a lot of hard work. It's not that you're not smart enough to do it or that you don't know how to study - it's just in general very hard to accomplish. It's really cool that you're aiming high Just remember that the best of the best achieve a 4.0 GPA. Don't get discouraged if your GPA is lower than 4.0 - employers rarely look at GPA anyway.

In community college, before I transferred to uni, I was really all about the 4.0. I got SUPER depressed when I got a 3.8 in Economics. Then you get into full fledged uni and things get so much harder, and you have to balance so many things. I learned to aim high, but to also remember that having a 4.0 GPA isn't the most important thing in the world.

If you really really REAAAALLY want that 4.0, your time management skills must be top notch, and you should also have a good sense of when to ask for help so you don't fall behind.

Good luck to you!
