Philosophy teaches people is how to think, and think well. I'm not surprised at all to hear that philosophy majors tend to do well in life, whatever the career path that they choose. Business, law, medicine, the arts -- doesn't matter. A background in philosophy is always excellent and valuable preparation.

Lol....if you're really keen on doing some other major just wait till you've joined college. Then try to convince your parents that you really want to do some other major at your college, start during freshman year (mid - end)

If they still say no, engineering is the only way to go...... just say you're doing engg. while actually pursuing some other major, once you've graduated they're not gonna say anything... :P

Just my 2cents...

Well, that's basically true. I guess you might be able to include IBankers, CS programmers, doctors, and lawyers, but once you're at lawyer it's a stretch.

I really like philosophy. It'd be fun to just sit around all day . . . thinking. Honestly, schoolwork doesn't exactly promote thought. In fact, it turns people into zombies.
