I can't say I know any very intelligent people with bad GPAs. I know some sharp, astute people, but I wouldn't call them intelligent. There's a lot more to school than just doing assignments and turning stuff in. You have to deal with crappy professors, BS assignments no one wants to do, BS assignments you're not sure how to do, BS assignments that really just drain your free time more than help you learn something. Your school could suck, your parents could suck...there's just a lot to deal with.

None, because those who have high marks in high school had much lower GPAs in university went to schools with inflated grades. It's not that uncommon.

I know intelligent people with poor or under achieving GPAs. That's a partial function of effort. I know a few people with good GPAs that have less than great test scores (but still decent). The former is much more common than the latter though, for obvious reasons.

None, as I don't really know anyone VERY intelligent. I know smart people, but they do well in school, but no one borderline genius.

My freshman year I roomed with my two best friends, played video games, got drunk almost every night, went to parties, etc. Ended up with a 2.9 first semester, second semester one friend dropped out, other joined fraternity and I studied more, got a 4.0 and I have an A in every class this semester so Im pretty sure I'll get a 4.0 again. gotta stay away from the keystone......

"Um who the hell cares about GPAs and test scores. When your adult you will realize that no longer matters in the real world. Hell you will realize it never matters."
it only matters in that you need good enough GPAs/test scores to get the job you are passionate about. very intelligent people with crap GPA/test scores will not get into medical school for instance, so if you want to be a doctor you have to put in that certain amount of effort. but even then, there's hundreds of things more worthy of stressing out than grades... and if I end up not getting a GPA good enough for med school, then I'll find some other job I enjoy doing. our lives are too short to worry about grades.

In the real world no one cares about test scores or GPA. They care about results.
Which is linked to intelligence, work ethic, etc. Test scores & GPA correlate to success in some professions (in others, they might be non-correlated or negatively correlated).
