Is it safe to give out your account's route number?

So,

I purchased an item from someone in Europe. She doesn't have PayPal so she is asking me for my Bank's account + route number so she can transfer the money to me.

So is it SAFE to give out that information?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am just not sure.

Thanks

Ben

No, it's not. If you bought the item from her, why is she transferring money TO you? Shouldn't you be sending money to HER?

If she doesn't have PayPal, send her a certified check or a money order. Do NOT give out your checking account routing number.

NEVER give out your routing number. Once somebody has that they can drain your account. My mom's a banker and she sees it literally EVERYDAY.
