| Let's be tolerant to all religions but...scientology? hey guys, i've noticed that a lot of people on CC and in real life will accept all religious beliefs BUT scientology. i know a little about their beliefs and all, and they're pretty interesting and 'out there', but what's the big fuss?
an example that comes to mind is that tom cruise was accused of being a scientologist, which created problems of him shooting a movie in Germany because of the German gov't interfering. Even national governments are against it??
one man's religion shouldn't affect another man, right?
just curious >< |

| I did a parody Expository speech in Forensics about scientology.....all very tongue-in-cheek haha. It doesn't count as a real religion, so we can make fun of it all we want. It's like making fun of Harry Potter.
Ron Hubbard, the weirdo who made scientology up, once said something like: "if you want to make a million dollars, just start a religion." hahaha reallllllll smooth, Hubbard. I trust you so much now lol
P.S. I love how spell checkers think that "scientology" is misspelled. It's b/c it's not a real religion/name haha |

| Scientology to me isn't really a religion, or else I'd be more tolerant of it. From what I've seen, it's more of a scam. |

| Well, yes, because they believe that all humans are just quasi-cages for alien souls. We're all really trapped aliens, deep deep down |

| Look up Xenu, it's a featured article.
Several Scientologists I've contacted via email denied the existence of Xenu, even though it has been established by many well-reputed people. |

| I think that the extreme scientologists like Hubbard and Tom Cruise are completely nuts...just watch that interview w/ Tom by Matt Lauer and you'll agree lol. But I do know a few scientologist well who are in my extended family who are completely normal, believe in God, and do not follow everything by the book or do all those weird scientologist test and stuff or pay huge sums of money to the "church" or whatever. They do more things like not eating certain foods and making their kids eat healthy (ex. natural peanut butter) I think the actual religion of Scientology was made up by Hubbard and is not by any means the Truth, but many of the followers aren't like the Tom Cruise type and just believe in certain values of the religion. I think that there is a huge misconception about those scientologists (like people thinking all scientologists are brainwasheds loons), but the negative views of the "out there" ones are dead on. Those brainwashed scientologists need help and a change of religion b/c their "religion" was created by a sexist, abusive, greedy, SOB. Anyone can start a religion...you can actually be ordained online and start a chuch...like the Church of Bob...! |

..according to Scientology founder (and speculative fiction writer) L. Ron Hubbard, was the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of his people to Earth in DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and killed them using hydrogen bombs. Scientology holds that their essences remained, and that they form around people in modern times, causing them spiritual harm. Members of the Church of Scientology widely deny or try to hide the Xenu story.
| the last sentence complies with what you said liist..
and lolol, "brought billions of his people to Earth in DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and killed them using hydrogen bombs."
...wow, how do people (no offense to any scientologist here) fall for these beliefs? >< |

| You've got a mistake. Xenu was the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy"
Scientologists don't find out about those beliefs until they get properly brainwashed and pay hundreds of thousands of dollars before they are exposed to these secret beliefs.
They have a series of Operating Thetan levels, and Operating Thetan Level III is when they learn about Xenu.
Tom Cruise is Operating Thetan Level XII, which is one below the highest level. He's really ****ed up. |

| Just look on the Scientology website, they portray themselves as believing in God (note capital G) and they claim that they help millions of people.
You have to study them more if you want to know the whole story. Basically, you spend money to take courses and you move up the ranks. They brainwash you and make you confess all your information (which they carefully write down). There's a whole lot of bull **** going around in this cult. |

Xenu was about to be deposed from power, so he devised a plot to eliminate the excess population from his dominions. With the assistance of psychiatrists, he summoned billions of his citizens together under the pretense of income tax inspections, then paralyzed them and froze them in a mixture of alcohol and glycol to capture their souls. The kidnapped populace was loaded into spacecraft for transport to the site of extermination, the planet of Teegeeack (Earth). The appearance of these spacecraft would later be subconsciously expressed in the design of the Douglas DC-8, the only difference being the DC-8's jet turbines. When they had reached Teegeeack/Earth, the paralyzed citizens were unloaded around the bases of volcanoes across the planet. Hydrogen bombs were then lowered into the volcanoes and detonated simultaneously. Only a few aliens' physical bodies survived.

| L. Ron Hubbard was a Science Fiction writer, a horrible one. Have you seen Battlefield Earth? The worst movie I've ever seen. |
