I just added NYU and Macalester and Pomona to my list. Why? BECAUSE I CAN. And because I want three more little envelopes in my mailbox come April, it seems.

4th in a row - Fun story, my guidance counselor accidentally showed me the transcript that gets sent to colleges, and all my ACT scores were on there, including the shitty writing score I got last October. And I told her to take it off, but she said it was too late. But the Common App says the forms weren't submitted until yesterday, so maybe she was talking about the forms she sent to UTK. So I'm freaking out right now. My UTK app status said they received everything two days ago, plus the ACT score they're showing is superscored, so I'm holding out hope that I won't have to frantically call the other 8 schools (because I don't care if UTK got my shitty writing score. I can just send them my new one too.) And I only sent an official score report (of a good test) to Scripps and UTK, so I'm hoping that Scripps and the others will just disregard the ones on my transcript, since I thought they had to get an official report for it to count.
FREAKING OUT.

Dude. Chill out. They look at your best scores. And some schools don't care as much about the writing score as they lead you to believe.

I'm on CC, why would I calm down?
My 'Why Scripps' short answer was both contrived and slapdash. So. Go me?

Last Wednesday, I submitted my Yale EA application. After a solid 3 months of work. December 15. Fingers crossed.
Now that I have more free time, I will resume posting in this here watering hole.
I took Math II in October and essentially bombed it. No idea what happened. But thankfully only one of my schools requires three subject tests, so no big deal.
Did you apply early anywhere Snoop?

Nope. Just the scholarship deadlines for UT and Scripps. My mom said something about not minding if I had applied to Columbia ED, but after I got over the shock I realized I wouldn't want to deal with a potential rejection that early. So. Reading the Columbia forum just depresses me further, but I do think I have a fighting chance with Scripps, at least if they ignore my 'Why Scripps' short answer. And I added a couple more schools for a total of 9. I'm getting marginally more morose everyday.
I never got to read your Common App essay, infidel.

I'm hesitant to let anyone read either it or my supplement essay now that both have been released into the wild. If you're really curious, though, I can send them to you.
You'll be fiiiine. Srsly. All the years on CC will pay off.

Eh. I'm not very good at selling myself on paper. But I won't be one of those annoying people who insist on being self-deprecating to the point of nuisance.
Yak and Yale. Yake? That'll do, I suppose.

You can call me Snooplumbia. Or Columbisnoop. But I know I'm not getting in there, so maybe Snoopps or Macalesnoop or Snooperbilt or USnoopessee.
That was fun.
And I was worried about my transcript for nothing. I think. My counselor is the opposite of helpful.

My counselor is the definition of helpful. Though she is 100% clueless about US college applications and I had to sit with her for an hour to outline my battle plan.
Today Yale confirmed that all components of my application have been submitted and that all I need to do now is sit tight and wait.

I have gotten no confirmation of anything. Ah well. I know a dozen of my friends have already gotten into Auburn and LSU and UT Martin and god knows what else, but I get to wait until April. Super.
I have the day off tomorrow. I'm going to cram for my SAT, then do my homework, then make a list of everything I need to do for my applications. Oh god.

Good luck on the SAT!
So, it has been confirmed that I will receive my decision from Yale on December 15. It's sort of awful because I literally can't stop thinking about it. Every day, when I write the date, I think of how close/far I am to the decision date and it's just the worst thing in the world. However, it has been a full week since I submitted my application. So, I still have slightly under 6 weeks more to wait.
Is Columbia your top choice, snoopyiscool?

Sure is.
Studying for the SAT calms me down. It's funny. Maybe it's because I'm only taking it so I can be considered to be a National Merit Finalist.
I'm listening to the Spring Awakening soundtrack now. It calms me down too. Betcha didn't think I was a soundtrack person.
