I wanted to go to Princeton since I was 5 years old. I live right near it, and I visited the campus every month or so, so that's probably why.

I didn't really give a thought about college when I was 8. Towards middle school I wanted to go to UCLA. Now, I have no idea.

Until joining CC, I didn't know what the Ivy League was and what schools were in it. I had no idea how hard it was to get in or that so many people were obsessed with getting in. I remember watching Legally Blonde, and when she said, "What, like it's hard? " to get in to Harvard, I didn't get it.

My nanny went to Princeton so I wanted to go there. But I also remember liking Notre Dame because of Rudy.

I didn't even know what college was when I was eight. I just wanted to marry the green Power Ranger.

I wanted to go to an "elite" university. I didn't know any, though.

I wanted to go to USC, Temple, or NYU. I wanted to be a movie director, and those three schools are (or are to the 8-year-old's mind) legendary for film.
Now I've switched tracks completely and didn't even end up applying to any of those.

When I was 8, I wanted to NYU.

Coincidentally, I was 8 during 9/11.

I had always dreamed of UCLA because of the riddle:

What happens when the smog clears over Los Angeles?
Ans: UCLA

When I was 4 I wanted to be a toaster (I can thank "The Brave Little Toaster" movie for that), when I was 10 I probably wanted to be a doctor. But I really didn't have any grasp on what college really was until junior high (I guess around 12).
