Yes, I could never see myself at Harvard, even assuming that I had the credentials to get in. It's old, stuffy, etc....To me it's not worth even the prestige.

Plus, one of my friends is a current student there and she had so many extra essays AFTER she got in but before classes started along with tons of placement exams and all the rest....sounds like a pain to me. For her orientation, they had to read a bunch of boring essays and discuss them (I'm not against reading essays but I saw the topics and they were really dry....). Wow, fun...

I wouldnt mind Harvard even though I despised that school when it was compared to Princeton. However due to financial issues... I would love to go to Harvard if it's a full ride. HOWEVER.. if I got a full ride to Purdue instead... I'd choose Purdue since I love the school so freaken much even though I had to leave of financial issues...

If Harvard gave me a full ride, then I'd go, but if they offered me squat, and Tufts, JHU, or BU offered me a full ride, I would pick them.

For some reason, (even though I know I won't get it) I just didn't "like" it as much as I thought I would. The atmosphere at, say, BU was just better, then Harvard.

Well if you were just going to turn Harvard down for the reasons stated, why would you ever apply in the first place? I suppose it's a different matter if you were wealthy and suddenly lost your money and consequently decided to go to a state college...

Idk. I guess you could win the lottery. And I realize that not everyone makes up their mind about going to either a LAC or a private research university such as Harvard before applying.

Okayyyy... I just answered my own question and my argument no longer makes any sense. Lol.

I'd turn them down for a school closer to home like UGA.
