Well, I'm from Asia and we don't calculate GPA there so.....I'm not a quite top student I think, but I still love to browse the site and sometimes post something.

I was very below average in high school, at least according to test scores. Above average in grades and classes though.

I'm 3.045/27 ACT/Top 40%. However I take college classes and all AP's/honors and am pretty involved in school and have a job.

The most competitive school I'm applying to this year is UW-Madison. No ivies or anything close to that.

I am just here reading information =.= I am pretty average.

GPA is average 3.93. But SAT is way below the bar. Only in few clubs.
Too tiny to compare to the Chance Me people.

Maybe if you get off the 'chances' or elite colleges forums. Go on unknowns schools that are pretty easy to get into. I have seen quit a few people like you are describing. I have a 3.5, by the way. =)

I had to laugh at this thread. Because here I am.

Personally, I think it's a shame that school has to be such a big determining factor for everything in life.

I mean, here we go... five years old and all excited for school. But little do we know we're making a twelve year commitment. I think school (and I mean traditional, public school) kills my motivation, desensitizes the importance of living. Be here, do this, and get by.

I'm surprised I never dropped out. I can't now. It's my senior year, and I figure I might as well finish it. But holy crap, it has been a long, hard road for me. I hate everything about school: the shallow social interaction, the vastness, the freaking bells, grade division, everything!

I'm looking to go to a college with a good art department. Even if it means a cheapish, high admittance rate community or state college. But I'm shooting for a small, liberal arts college town type setting.

You can't find anybody like that on this site because their are mainly three types of people on this site. The furst type is your wannabe high school / college student. By a wannabe I am implying somebody that isn't very good at at academics or/sports or they are socially challenged.

The second type of people is your high school / college student that is concerned about their future. This type of person is the guy/girl that is thinking ahead and is a leader, not a follower.

The third type of person is the over-worried parent. They are concerned about their child at high school and/or college.
