I've heard colleges can be lenient on AP Calc BC grades the first half of the year... apparently it's happened pretty often.

It's not good but I wouldn't say it will haunt your applications...

It depends on a few things. Is it BC post-AB? A few schools BC courses go straight into Multi, with AB as a pre-requisite. BC is tough; since it's HS, it may not be too late to drop to AB. If you have taken AB, no reason to get a C, most of the material overlaps.

{Personally, I took AB and BC concurrently. Altho the material overlapped, it emphasized a lot of calculus concepts, and made BC much more bearable.}
