Going somewhere for the hell of it (but, the future looms)

Is anyone an advocate of going somewhere to pursue dreams...even if it may be a more expensive and lower (not low) ranking school? Or would one be better off going the best (highest ranking) college and assuming that will take care of everything, that eventually you will find your *dreams* since you went to such a respected school...?

Basically, my choices (are/will be) LMU vs UMN vs UIL vs a smaller LAC in PA (Dickinson/Franklin Marshall)...

I've always wanted to pursue a *different* life in Los Angeles, well because that's where everyone else does! (I'm from MA) But I would like to know if LMU is worth it--considering it's 50k/year cost, the fact that I probably won't receive any aid, and the fact that it is ranked only as a master's university on the West Coast...The good news... I would only be there for 2 years...(transfer)

My greater goal/concern is getting into an AWESOME grad school for business/international relations... For this matter, would I be be better off coming from a large public school like UIL or UMN OR a smaller Tier1 LAC???

THANKSSSS!

not me...as long as have other options

if you look, you can find plenty of cheaper, mid- to high-range Tier 1 schools in LA
