Common App: The "Topic of Your Choice" Essay

I don't want to write about any of the prompts, and I want to write about a topic of my choice.

Two questions. First, do we need to make up a specific prompt? The one I have been planning to write doesn't really fit a prompt. It's very specific and the idea is focused. I just can't make up a prompt to go with it.

Second question: If we do need to come up with a prompt for our topic, should we write the prompt at the top of our essay?

No prompt needs to be made or included anywhere. That section is simply for topics that don't fit into any of the other prompts, which is rare.

Best of luck. (:
