common app: how far is too far with the jokes? + strange/boring topics?

For my common app essay about an influential person from history, I want to write about Alexander Hamilton... is it creepy to say something about 'my infatuation' and 'his handsome face on the ten dollar bill' ? I want to be creative but not seem inappropriate.

Since I'm not sure if I want to use that one, I have three other essays in the making...
One is about owning pet chickens (good story),
finally getting a dog (not that great, not focused on this one),
and an experience when a stranger had a stroke. (finished and my ap lang teacher likes it)

Are these too boring/generic of topics?

I'm probably going to scrap two of these and start new ones. LOL.

any help is appreciated.. post thoughts or anything!

I like the pet chicken one, its different. The stranger has a stroke one is cool too, but make sure it focuses on you.
