Does your essay need to be a specific experiance?

So i've decided to write a topic of your choice essay in fear of sounding like everyone else and also because its the last year of that choice (why not right...). So my essay is just explaining who i am, which I'm afraid is A) telling now showing and B) not a specific experience which seems to be important. Is it? It also isnt greatly personal...

Should I rewrite my essay? or just include a conclusion as a specific point in time with personal details? Thank you all so much for your time

Admissions is looking to get to know applicants better through their essays (not just an academic score). In general, listing your qualities doesn't make an interesting read for admissions. Writing a personal experience uniquely yours and showing versus telling usually work well. Just consider if an admissions reader is reading your essay at the end of a 10+ hour day, would it be memorable?

definitely try and make it personal and express who you are as a person.

Your essay should essentially be a "slice-of-life," so you'd probably want to focus on one experience that shows who you are as a person.
