Advice for College Essays?

I'm a junior and I just finished writing my first draft. While I'm obviously not satisfied, a start's a start! Before I continue editing, I want to know if there's any valuable advice you can offer me

I wrote this draft on overcoming a sports injury (so cliche I know, but it really affected me as well as my chances at a leadership position). Do you have any advice on how to make my essay distinctive from all the others?

My other ideas for essays are mostly overcoming adversity/finding my voice etc. Hoping more inspiration would come my way
