Can I do this for my Common App Essay, topic no. 1?

"Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you."

Well my significant experience (the one i'm planning to write about) is how I moved from America to India when I was 14 and how it subsequently changed my outlook on my heritage/future. My only concern is that it's not a very 'specific' experience, considering it occurs over a time of roughly 4 years. I plan to mention one or two anecdotes as well. Is this okay to do?

Yes, be detailed in your anecdotes, and show, not tell, your stories. Good luck. : )

As long as youre specific in your anecdotes you'll be fine. Make sure to emphasize the "and its impact on you" part.
