Can I submit an essay I used during a pre-read during the actual common application?

I'm applying to Cornell University, and am being recruited for athletics. I got a pre-read on my likelihood of admission, during which i had to write an essay. The prompt for this essay is similar to the supplementary essay prompt for the actual application, and I want to know if i can reuse, or at least recycle parts of, the original essay.
Thanks! This is pretty last minute, I have everything already written though.
