And I'm still at it.. you don't have to ask if I will take a look at your essay and do the back and forth - wastes time. :) Send essays along with prompts and any a brief note if there is something in particular you are struggling with or can't seem to get just right.

Also, please make sure that you spell check and there are only limited grammatical errors. I realize English is not everyone's first language, so it doesn't have to be perfect.

Finally, I get a dozen or so requests along these lines a week, and I really do make an effort to help as many as possible, but that unfortunately precludes me from being able to read sixteen pages that you are going to pare down to two paragraphs "at a later date". Brevity is wit.

Please note also that I do not read or edit essays in Google Docs or any other online collaborative document system. I do this for a number of reasons that I'm happy to go into further detail if anyone is really interested, but honestly it is so that you, the student, can be sure that the person who ends up reading your essay is in fact the same person who has built a reputation for doing solid essay reviews on this site. There is no other way really to link the two.

Plus I hate the interface. Cut and paste your essays into a private message to this account and I will provide feedback. This system has worked for many years now and I haven't had one complaint or issue.

    :)

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Could I piggyback on your thread?

I read lots and lots and lots of essays over the summer. I'm a teacher and had lots of long lazy days.

But school is back in full swing, and I'm absolutely swamped. The last 2 nights I was at school until 9:30 pm, with two more similar nights next week. I have detention duty this week, and had to switch with someone for today because it conflicts with another meeting. I just put in a load of wash so my son will have a shirt to wear to work this morning. I still have one more set of quizzes to grade somewhere between now and 9th period.

So I'm very sorry, but if you're hoping I can get to your essay, you've pretty much missed your window of opportunity. August was perfect. September is a nightmare. Right now, the only essays I'm helping with are my daughter's.

Her English teacher, like every senior English teacher I know, is assigning the Common App prompts as essay assignments. So kids can still get educated help, though a poor job will mean a hit to your grades. And draft after draft after draft for revision won't be possible there either. Again, your window of opportunity was summer.

    My apologies.

You have a son that's old enough to have a job but doesn't do his own laundry especially when his mom is swamped at work?

    I had an explanation typed.

    Then realized it wasn't necessary.

Or when you take the time to edit someone's essay and they don't say thank you. It's like I took my time out of the day to help you out and you can't type 2 words? Jesus Christ!
