im kinda worried about my Common App essay. I just realized it said up to 500 words, but the one I submitted is 700 words!!! The box does allow for up to 6000 characters and mine fits but what will colleges think about the length. Will they disregard it or get angry? The essay itself is very good and flows perfectly so there wouldnt be anything to cut out.
If you've already submitted it, there is nothing you can do about it now. While I would personally consider 700 words slightly beyond the over-the-limit limit, I don't think adcoms will completely disregard it or become angry. If it is truly well written without extra fluff, you should be ok.
