Mentioning the same thing in two essay

Cornell requires 3 essays. 2 for the Common App and one for the supplement. I've already written the personal statement part of the supplement and it's about a different topic entirely.

The other two essays are the short answer Common App (describe an EC), and this:

College of Engineering: Engineers turn ideas (technical, scientific, mathematical) into reality. Tell us about your interest in engineering or an engineering idea you have. Explain how Cornell Engineering can help you further explore this interest or idea.

My question is, if I make the short answer one about an engineering internship I did, is it ok to mention the internship in the Cornell supplement essay (but not make it the focus of the essay)?
