Writing about the school that changed my gpa

I did not make good grades before i found a college im dying to go to because i just didnt understand the impact my grades had. My grades have gotten better now that im more determined and other things in my life have straightened out. In my college essay to that particular school, would it be a good or bad idea to write about how much i want to go to their school has made me a more determined student to make good grades?

You can mention your transformation into a more determined and hardworking student, but don't say it was just because you wanted to go to their school. Put a broader spin on it, like say that you "realized that you were in control of your own future" or something.

i say yes all the way! if you have any part of your application that looks weak, you should address it if possible. but yeah, i agree with sim1.

"i just didnt understand the impact my grades had." so tell them how you understand it now! "im more determined and other things in my life have straightened out." run with this, elaborate on this! (in your essay i mean.)
