Stanford supplement essay: Letter to Roommate?

Here's the prompt: Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate--and us--know you better.

Are the admissions officers expecting something really creative with this prompt? I can't think of what to write except a generic letter expressing my interests. Anything too personal doesn't seem to fit in a "letter to your future roommate."

I love it. You can get to tell all the quirks about you that make you unique.

a bit of humour for sure! But dont present youself as someone who doesnt take anything seriously. And please dont mention anything about your school grades and your future artistic or economics ambitions!!
