I am a bad writer, but my essays seem good

I don't generally write good essays. I am an international following a sciences profile and our system does not emphasize writing at all; we are not supposed to write many essays in school. This is why I think my teachers will not tick in the recommendations I am above average at writing. My SAT essay was also lame, because I write even worse when I am pressured by time.

However, during the summer, I started studying some writing college essays books and I think I have improved my writing skills a lot. I received very good opinions about the essays I've written for college. What will the adcoms think about someone who doesn't seem to write very well, but who has good college essays? I am afraid they will think I used an editing service or something, which is completely untrue. Is there anything I could do to let them know it is indeed my work?

Buddy, if you have done nothing wrong, then there is no point to worry.
You can simply tell them - if you find necessay - about your experience of improving your writing skill, in one of your supplementaries.
I think that will help!

Actually, what I am more concerned with is how did you improve your writing.
My essays suck and I do not know what to do....

Just start writing down what you feel, by using your own words. Don't try to make the perfect essay from the beginning (I have written a dozen of poor essays). And to get a picture of what the adcoms want from you, read as many essays that worked as you can. You can find hundreds on the Internet. Also, at every essay you write, ask for feedback from a person who knows what college essays are about. You'll soon figure out for yourself what is good and what is bad.

hmmm. just wondering. what if, u tell them how u worked hard n improved on writing but the adcom don't think it's good and it ends up looking like u think too highly of urself?

but i'm sure it's good. my mind just sort of get off track sometimes.
