I can barely read my essay without crying... anyone want to critique?

I'm looking for some input on my personal statement essay. It's almost exactly 497 words right now but I sort of want to add more but I'm not sure if it'd be bad to have too much or if it's good as is. It's very intense. any takers?

I am new to the website but would be more than happy to read it. I feel that my essay follows into the same sort of "intense" category as yours exchange maybe? either way. PM it over

I'd be happy to give you feedback on it, I think I could use reading a tearjerker right about now. :]
