how to answer the "why u apply to us" Q?

Hi,
Im pretty much in the final stage of my apps. I'm wondering how to write good answers to the "why u apply to us" Qs? I mean, of cors i can go on and on kissing their ass, but i really wanna know how i can make my answer kinda unique. If you know Georgetown(Foreign service), Columbia, Brown, Northwestern(Liberal Arts or Journalism), Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke(Trinity), Amherst or Cornell(Hotel admin. and Arts&Science) well, that'll be even more awesome!! thanks

Just make it really apparent that you've done your research and that you know a lot about the school. Try to combine points about why you like the school and why you would be a good fit for the school. Know more than the typical "you can give me a good education" and try to write about the atmosphere of the school and what makes it unique from all the others. Important tip: If you can take your finished essay and replace the college's name with another name, then it's probably not a good essay.

Explain how the college feels to you. Ask yourself: is each college a good fit?
