What's the best way to tackle the activities short essay question?

on the common app

Should I just describe what I do in the activity in an objective way? Or do I also add what I gained from the experience? How do you make it sound personal?

Completely objective is probably not the way to go. Can you talk about why you got involved in the activity, how you are passionate about it, what you gained from it, etc? What makes this activity so special to you that you have taken the time to participate in it (besides the fact that you kinda need ECs to go to college, of course!)

It's a short essay. Read the prompt. You can describe why you want to join in your activity list.
