Has anyone gotten their essay stolen?

A few days ago, I pm'ed a rough draft of an essay to a member (on another username) with a low post count. He/she never responded. I looked at his posts and he never signed in for like 5 months then asked to read 3 ppl's essays in under 5 minutes. Is there a relatively high chance that my essay was taken (and therefore i should write a new one). Has anyones essay been stolen and colleges found out?..

The same thing happened to me a few days ago. The poster had a few posts but I didn't realize it. Will evil always exist? It totally turned me off, happening on CC and all.

Why does anyone trust their essay to an unknown person on the web? If you would like a reaction or editorial help, it makes much more sense to ask a teacher or advisor.

Because you have people like Edwardz who made my essay waaay better.

Besides, I don't think anyone else could write about 3 older sisters (because not many people have exactly 3 older sisters) and Key Club like the way I did.

Maybe the person never really read it or just wanted to read essays to get some ideas. Did you turn the return receipt option on? I'm pretty sure you're fine. I've sent my essays to tons of people and have gotten no response back - it's really annoying. :/

can anyone recommend some trustworthy people who HAVE given really good advice on essays? It would really help those of us who are hesitant to send out our essays...

I only sent out the early drafts of my essays on CC. The ones I actually ended up submitting probably wouldn't even flag from what people could have gotten on this site, but if you're worried about theft, then I suggest you save your drafts in case you need to defend yourself.

Hi, I want to say something. As you see I have written very few posts long time ago... I also received two essays (it was long time ago) to give some response but I did not. (I did not have time, I forgot) The point that I am trying to make is that I will not use/submit them anyway. I am not confessing because I am innocent. However, I think that sending one's own essay is not dangerous, it is safe. How can I write essay that do not fit me and is not about me and then send it to university? It is ridiculous.... Just, do not worry and stay cool.
Best regards

do colleges actually remember every essay that they read? do they have some sort of plagiarism-detecting computer program?
