I think it would be totally fine if you were quoting someone to make a point, and you probably wouldn't include the word/s if it didn't serve a significant purpose, so admissions people would realize that.
I would avoid that. I mean this is your chance to show what you can do for writting and "that's gay" is the best you can do? ( I know it's not, but what about the admissions people?)
The original poster said that he is using it to prove a point. As long as he uses quotes and makes it CLEAR that he does not endorse the use of such undeveloped language, it is fine. The reader just needs to know that he doesn't believe in using such a phrase.
