Sending in a movie might be a problem, because they'd have to take time to take out a television set and DVD player. Depends on whether you're an abstract person. Some people who like comics more than essays and are good at making comics do comics for the essay.
I think a poem or script could work, but make sure it says something about you as a person (it's really easy to forget that when you move away from the typical essay format). I wouldn't recommend sending in a movie, unless the college specifically allows that.
