Casual vs. Serious

Here is the prompt:
Although it may appear to the contrary, we do know that people have a life beyond what they do to get into college. Tell us about an experience you have had outside of your formal classroom and extracurricular activities that was just plain fun and why.

I spent a few paragraphs talking about skiing on a serious, reflective level. Can I end with the following, or is it too casual?

Sure, skiing has helped me acclimate to California and gain some insight into life. It has taught me valuable lessons about myself. But most of all, it’s just plain fun.

Not reading the rest of your essay, it's a little hard to judge. But it sounds fine, and it calls back the prompt, which is good.
