UCLA personal statement (as a transfer student)

does anyone know what the personal statement is supposed to be about?

do they assign a topic each year or could you write about anything?

What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field — such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities — and what you have gained from your involvement.

Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

you have to answer both of them. go to the website : University of California - Admissions

thanks!

I read the website but I have one more question now, sorry:

it says that, "Respond to both prompts, using a maximum of 1,000 words total"

so does that mean that each prompt has a thousand word limit or does it mean each prompt should only be 500 words each?

You can allocate it however you like with a minimum of 250 words for one.
