Writing about a troubled time in your life and how it changed you on the college essa

Is it a good idea to write about a troubled childhood or something like that (growing up in a bad environment) a troubled experience, etc.

And then explaining how it shaped you as a person and how you will use the experience to help others in the future or something along those lines

Is it okay to try to get adcoms to sympathize with you?

Will it help?

i wouldn't make the essay sounds like its pleading for sympathy lol, that's a little overboard. I would just focus on how it changes you.

The real question is: Are you a good writer? Topic is irrelevant.
