I'll read it and give you a critique, but I highly doubt this will be a good essay based on the topic. I predict that 90% of the time you will sound whiny and 9% of the time you will sound generic. My opinion is if getting a B+ is the most significant and unfair thing that happened your life, then you need to learn to prioritize or get a life.

Basically you're going on about how you got A+ in this, 95% in that or whatever and then that a B+ made you reconsider your outlook on life. I just can't seem to justify how that classifies as growth.

Ok, so from the reviews I've been getting, the general consensus is that my essay blows.
Should I scrap it and write about my love of French and Chinese languages (and how I speak Chinese but was illiterate and made myself literate) or is there anyway for me to turn it into a good essay?

would anyone like to read my activities essay? the 150 word one for the common app?

That topic is toxic. Write about the languages, but make sure you have at least one anecdote so it doesn't overgeneralize.

i'll read the short one. pm me.

um, don't want to sound annoying and try to influence you in any way, but do you have anything non-academic to talk about?
"This personal essay helps us to become acquainted with you as a person and student, apart from courses, grades, test scores, and other objective data. "
so i would think that one should write about someone dying or something more personal.
