If you have taken an active, constructive role in this matter: if you are on a committee of some sort, if you are a major organizer of a protest, then you could write about your constructive steps to address the problem.
If not, though, I'm skeptical that badmouthing another person is going to help you achieve your goals.
Your readers are not going to know, or be able to take the time to find out, the accuracy of your portrayal of Iris Blige. They might wonder, though, how you propose to handle interpersonal conflicts in the dorm or classroom, given the example you are providing of denigrating the one with whom you disagree, but taking no practical steps whatsoever to address the problem.
If you have not played some sort of significant participatory or leadership role in this situation, then my advice is to reveal detailed, positive events in your life that make the position of principal of interest to you. Make the essay revealing of you, not Iris Blige.
