Essay Word Count

On the 250 I was around 266 and on the 500 I used 544, how bad is this...it was not wasted words and I've looked over it numerous times in attempt to shorten

Did it have to be less than 250 and 500? If so then i'm guessing you're going to have to shorten it somehow. Some things won't submit unless they're under the word limit, and some others won't get read at all from what i've heard.

If its approximately, I think that you're okay then. Is this for the common app or a regular college app?

If its a regular college app then i'm pretty sure you'll be fine. As long as its a clear and concise essay then they'll accept it.

LOL, don't worry about it. I'd go with the 10% rule (so for a 500 word essay, 550 would be alright)
