Sam...just make sure your essay is about you (how you felt/how you reacted to it/what you put into it/what you got out...), not the experience itself! Adcoms aren't interesting in reading about an interesting experience, they want to know about you, through this experience.
I know I haven't read the essay but just a tip. Talk about the experience, but also talk about how has effected how you think and how it has changed you.
