Hey guys, having done some research and purchasing 50 successful applications to harvard. I have come to realize that there are many essays that exceed the 500 word limit and yet get published as excellent essays in the book. What do you guys think about this? I have an essay that is 950 words - I was worrying about the length until I saw some ofthese essays. Should I cut? What's the point of a word limit if the admin officers openly publish essays that are 1000 words in length and label them as successful and excellent?

Good point! Our D's essay was over 1200 earlier this week, but she cut it down to the 820s and that's what she's sending this weekend. It flows very well and is a compelling story though. We shall see.
