What Not to Write

I'm thinking about writing about human indifference. I usually write fantasy and it has a very gothic feel (T-T I am not gothic). I have noticed that many essays are intended to make the person seem more altruistic or funny. I'm a very serious person when I'm writing. Should I send it in or should I try to write something a little less depressing?

What's the point of getting into a college that doesn't fit you?

um ok... you are writing an essay to get into a college, its not going to be like writing a story completely anyway, some parts may be kinda storyish but it is not what the reader is looking for. the reader wants to learn more about YOU, the writer and how you are going to fit into their college, not the mood of your essay... it should capture the reader's attention and it should also make them want you to be a part of their student body... if it doesn't do that then revise it so it does, if it meets all of those requirements then use it.
