i'm assuming "yes". but just wanted to make sure. there was something in one of my essays about a friend and i "crusading for bisexual rights". but i guess this would be bad to put in there?

nope. I've read read great essays about NRA members and christian fundamentalism.

but did they get in with that essay? and if so, do you think it's cuz christianity is more accepted than atheism (my religious belief)?

It all depends on the delivery and context. I'd generally avoid blatant religious/sexual/political statements, but they can be very well played sometimes.

Just don't be derisive in your essay to those who are Christians or are religious.

oh i wouldn't be derisive towards them at all. so that's it? otherwise, it's fine to mention it? i'm still a little wary.

I think your bisexual thing is fine but just bluntly saying I'm an atheist isn't a wise idea.

but overall, would you advise me not to put it if i don't have to? like...only mention stuff like that if it's absolutely necessary? or could it conversely provide info about causes i'm passionate about and be a good thing?

I wrote one of my essays on my sexuality. Well, I wrote about coming out, and how it sorta changed me. It was pretty well-written in my opinion (lol), and I avoided controversial issues, and kept a nice tone of the essay
