Important memories are all around us, the accomplishments in life are some of the most cherished memories. Those memories are of major accomplishments that also end up leading to other very prestigious events.
In my nineteen years of life I have accomplished many things. I am proud of most of those things, but the one that stands would be the achieving of the rank Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America. The journey on the Eagle Scout trial was hard and very demanding. The journey for me started on March 21, 2002 as I became a Boy Scout in the Troop 550 under the scout master James Coyle. The tasks were more demanding as I progressed in ranks.
This opportunity allowed me to meet new people, make contacts, and get experience for life. On the process of earning the Eagle rank I got the chance to volunteer at many events, including but not limited to Exceptional Children’s Foundation fundraising events such as Jazz in the Garden, Home Run, and Helms Bakery Relighting Ceremony, Volunteer in The Our Lady of our Lords Church with fundraisers such as serving continental breakfast to the members of the church, Valyermo Fall Festival at Saint Andrew's Abbey volunteering to help out with the parking services to the vast amount of people who attend the festival every year, Eagle Scout Projects, which are required to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, of other fellow Eagle Scout candidates, who at that point are required to accumulate at least 150 hours of community service with-in the troop, and many more volunteer services.
In this process I was nominated for the Outstanding Youth Philanthropist in the year 2005 by the Director of Development at Exceptional Children’s Foundation. After finishing my very own Eagle Scout project with over in June 2005 with over 200 hours of accumulated community service, on November 15, 2005 The Western Los Angeles Committee in the Balboa Oaks District awarded me with the Rank of Eagle Scout with the current Scout Master David Manard. Following that day on November 16, 2005 I was awarded with Outstanding Youth Philanthropist by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
The following year I received Commendations from the former President of the United States, George W Bush, former First Lady Laura Bush, former Vice-President Dick Cheney, The Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, General of the United States Army Richard. A Cody, the Attorney General of the United States Alberto R Gonzales, Chief of Police of Los Angeles William J Bratton, the Fire Chief of Los Angeles William R Bamattre, The Secretary of Health and Human Services Department, Secretary of Department of Agriculture, the Secretary if Department of Labor, and many more. Which all were followed by my Eagle Court of Honor on October 26, 2006 with the new Scout Master Chris Benice.
